Data Processing

We collect and process a range of personally identifiable information including data that you give to us.  This is personally identifiable information that you give to us by filling in forms on our website or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail, in person or at events or otherwise.  We will capture information about your engagement with us including event attendances, click-throughs and opens on our email marketing communications and any surveys you may complete.  It includes information you provide as part of any work we carry out for you if you are a client of the firm. The information you give to us may include for example: your contact information as well as other information for delivering services to you.    We gather and use your personally identifiable information for: (i) the performance of a contract that you enter in to with us (ii) for direct marketing purposes, and/or (iii) our legitimate interests and in compliance with your fundamental rights and freedoms.  We may use personally identifiable information held about you in the following ways:

  • Business Uses: as part of an evaluation to enter in to a contract with you or to provide you with services you may have requested
  • Providing Support: to respond to requests, questions, and comments from you and to ensure that we are able to contact you about changes to our business or services.
  • Marketing & Website Experience: for the technical administration of our website and for enhancing the user experience of our website and for the same in relation to marketing communications

Subject to such parties’ compliance with applicable legislation and/or this Privacy Policy, we also disclose your personally identifiable information to selected third parties, including business partners; service providers, vendors, contractors and agents; debt collection agencies; professional service providers and other companies that provide services on our behalf.  We will not provide your data to 3rd parties for marketing purposes without your express consent to do so.  We disclose such data for the following purposes: to service the agreement between us and third parties; to enforce the Terms of Use; to meet our obligations to content and technology providers; to manage client accounts effectively, to provide services and market services offered by us; to manage our business; and to improve and optimise our website and services;  Furthermore, any communication, material or content you submit, post or access on website or blog or other on-line assets in a public area which may be viewed by the general public.  In addition to the foregoing, we may release your personally identifiable information to law enforcement, governmental authorities, or third parties if (i) required to do so by law or where such disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of the firm or third parties.  By submitting information, including personally identifiable information, to our website, you (i) consent to our use and disclosure of such information in any manner permitted by law, and (ii) acknowledge that you have no expectation of privacy, confidentiality, or privilege in it.

We make reasonable efforts to protect personally identifiable information that you provide from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However in relation to data provided via our online assets, due to the inherent nature of the Internet as an open global communications vehicle, the firm does not warrant or represent that its level of security meets or exceeds any particular standard, and no server or internet transmission is ever 100% secure or error-free. You should take this into account when submitting personal or confidential data on any websites. Similarly, any information that you send us through the websites is not confidential or privileged.

We will endeavor not to keep your personally identifiable information in a form that allows you to be identified for any longer than is reasonably necessary for achieving the permitted purposes. Personally identifiable information may be transferred outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”) to other third parties as set out above, provided that certain conditions as set out in the applicable legislation are complied with. We are registered with the Information Commissioner under reference number Z1749160.   You can contact us at info@stantonallen.co.uk at any time for more information about the details we hold on you and to request access to that information. You have the right for the data we hold on you to be rectified, changed or deleted. If you are a client then we process your data for the purposes of being able to provide the services to you for which you have engaged us. We will only process your data for the purposes of marketing if you have selected for us to do so. We do not process any sensitive personal data for any reason and do not hold that information on any of our systems. Whilst we make every effort that your personally identifiable information is only processed within the EEA, it may be transferred outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”) in certain circumstances provided that certain conditions as set out in the applicable legislation are complied with.

We only hold your data for as long as is necessary or for as long as you have proactively opted for us to do so. We have an audit facility in our systems to determine how recently your data has been updated or used and we use that facility to determine if your data should be modified or removed.
